To power LED lamps, it is necessary to use specialized current-stabilized power supplies, which are most often called drivers.It must be remembered that due to voltage fluctuations in the electrical network, the driver may fail.

One of the important parameters of the driver, which you need to pay attention to when choosing, is the output voltage. Each driver usually has two values of this parameter written on the case, namely the minimum and maximum values.(min......max VDC). 

When choosing a driver, you need to know which LEDs you plan to use and at what current. Next, look at the technical characteristics of these diodes parameter - voltage drop and then summarize this parameter.


Example :We are assembling a lamp consisting of 24 diodes of 3 watt Full spectrum LEDs and will power them with a current of 600 mA. At this current, the voltage drop on each LED will be 3.3 volts. In total, we get 24 * 3.3 = 79.2 volts.Thus, it is necessary that the driver has an operating voltage drop range that fits this parameter. A 50 Watt 600 mA driver with an operating range of 54-85 volts is suitable.
