ELECTRODE PROTECTION- solution for storing pH and ORP meter electrodesElectrode Storage Solution (KCl), recommended for use on all types of pH and ORP meters. Also, in addition to recommendations, some devices must necessarily be stored exclusively in such solutions (see the manufacturer's instructions). Failure to comply with the rules of operation and storage of the electrode may lead to the unusability of the instrument readings. If the device does not provide for the replacement of the electrode, improper operation will cause the device to malfunction.
The solution KCl has a number of advantages:
1.Significantly extends the service life of the electrodes
2. Improves the accuracy of the instrument readings
3. Reduces the time to determine the readings of the instrument by more than 2 times
4.Increases the interval between calibration settings of the instrument
5.;Solutions of different densities: 1 and 0.1 mol/dm3 (1 mol/dm3 is recommended for working with an aggressive environment, i.e. with deviations from neutral pH by 3 or more pt. The density of 0.1 mol/dm3 is most often used in crop production and areas not associated with a strong deviation from the neutral reading)
Method of application:
It is recommended to rinse the electrode after each use and place it in a solution. Pour the solution into the cap of the device to the level of complete immersion of the visible part of the glass electrode. Store the device in an upright position. Before use, the electrode should be rinsed with clean water, the remaining moisture should be carefully collected with filter paper or a soft cloth. The glass device is very fragile, so it is not recommended to touch the electrode with your fingers.
The solution should be stored in a tightly closed bottle, in a cool dark place.
